Mona Gail Thompson Phillips, 68 of Jesup, died Tuesday, May 1, 2018 after a short illness. The Evans County, Georgia native had lived in Wayne County most of her adult life and was a charter member of Anderson Drive Baptist Church , a 1967 graduate of Wayne County High School and a retired Media Specialist with Liberty County Board of Education as well as Long and Wayne County School Systems. She enjoyed reading, making old things new again and was a charismatically loving and selfless, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was predeceased by her parents, George Y. “Buck” and Eunice Thompson; grandsons, Jess Walker Corbitt and Ryder Whitmore Corbitt; and special nephew, Chris Gold.

Survivors are a daughter, Morgan Corbitt of Waverly; granddaughter, Allie Hall of Jesup; sisters, Betty (James) Moxley, Lisa (Dale) Lanham, both of Jesup; a brother, Truitt (Vickie) Thompson of Jasper; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 A.M., On Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennie Waters officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to be sent to The Nunnaly House, 2415 Park Wood Drive, Brunswick, Georgia 31520.

Honorary guests will be the 1967 graduating class of Wayne County High School.

Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup will be in charge of arrangements.
