CUMBERLAND--- Gary Edward Mooney, 60, of Cumberland, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018, at his residence.
Born May 15, 1957, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Michael Aloysuis Mooney and Mildred Leona (Self) Mooney.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Daniel K. Mooney, and Michael L. Mooney.
Gary attended Fort Hill High School. He went on to graduate from Allegany College of Maryland with an associate's degree in Automotive Technology.
Gary worked for Savage Brick Works for a number of years, and he was a member of Friendship Haven Church.
In his spare time, Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, and hiking in the woods.
Surviving are siblings, Amy Ashbery and husband Richard, Holly, NY, Charles Mooney and wife Donna, Trinidad, CA, Dale Mooney and wife Belinda, Mt. Top, PA, and Pamela Shanholtz and husband Gary, Cumberland, MD. Gary is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12 p.m. with Pastor Ray McCoy officiating.
Interment will be in Glendale Cemetery.
