Funeral services for Joseph Dewayne “Bruce” Holmes will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 5, 2018 in the Israelite Baptist Church with Reverend Paul Holmes officiating.
Committal service will follow in the Oakdale Community Cemetery under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Joseph, 39, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 in the Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria with his family by his side. He was born May 15, 1978 in Pineville to Eddies Holmes and Bruce Kirkland.
He was a cement finisher. Joseph loved the outdoors and was known as camp boss for the Backwood’s Hunting Club.
He was a loving son, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle, and friend.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are: his mother, Eddies Holmes of Lake Arthur; his father, Bruce Kirkland of Oakdale; his daughter, Jasmine Danielle Holmes of Lake Charles; his twin, Joey Demond Holmes of Oakdale; brothers, Lorenzo Earl Holmes of Oakdale, Anthony Ray (Carlisha) Holmes of Houston, Texas, Michael Lynn Holmes of Oakdale, and Elijah James Holes of Oakdale; sister, Dianna LaCole Holmes of Oakdale; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Pallbearers to serve will be Terrance Holmes, Nicholas Holmes, Jayden Holmes, James Holmes, Anthony Holmes, Jr., NaKyrien Jack, Cornell Brown, and Jovante Perry.
Visitation will be held in the Israelite Baptist Church on Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 8 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. in the church.
