Charles David Crews, Sr,71, of Waynesville passed away Tuesday morning (May 1, 2018) at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick after and extended illness.

Born in Hortense, GA his parents were William Oscar "W.O." Crews and Leona Jacobs Crews. He is also preceded in death by 2 brothers, William Delbert Crews and Ronald Lee Crews; and a sister, Darlene Crews.

Charles was a mechanic and served in the United States Army. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing, hunting, working, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Lynne Crews of Waynesville; 5 children & their spouses, Charles Crews, Jr., Lana & Randolph Wilson, Jerald & Tina Crews, Jesse & Samantha Crews, and Sheila & Larissa Crews all of Brantley Co; 12 Grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, Horace & Veronica Crews of Augusta and Bobby W. Crews of Savannah; 3 sisters and a brother-in-law, Margie Spence and Goldie Mae Crews both of Augusta and Lorna Gail & Mike Marr of Kingsland; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A graveside service will be held Friday afternoon (May 4, 2018) at 1PM at New Hope Cemetery with military honors.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
