Mrs. Ruby Ethel Duncan Ward, age 84, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at her daughter’s home. Mrs. Ward was born on August 6, 1933 in Longs, SC, daughter of the late Vestor Duncan and the late Minnie Cribb Duncan. Mrs. Ward was a homemaker and a longtime member of Pleasant Plain Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Minnie Faye Solano and husband, Walter Solano, Sr,; her three grandchildren, Bionka Alexis Hewett and fiancé, Bradley, Deanna Laura Miles and husband, Colby and Rafael Angel Solano and her sister, Emma Long all of Shallotte, NC.
Mrs. Ward was predeceased by her husband, James Norwood Ward, her daughter, Ruby Jane Ward and four brothers, Martin Duncan, E.J. Duncan Vermon Duncan and Bill Duncan.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Pleasant Plain Baptist Church with Pastor Dennis Williams and Reverend Mack Hutson officiating. Committal services will follow at Pleasant Plain Cemetery.
