KATHY DARLENE MARTINEZ
February 15, 1954 ~ April 25, 2018

Kathy was such an inspiration, a beacon of light, as many of her friends and loved ones referred to her. Her family and friends were her world. You can bet that you were each called by name every night or day if you were in need of prayers. She was the rock and source of hope to every single one of us even through the daily trials she faced.

On April 25, 2018 the Lord called our sweet mama home after a long battle with a nasty disease that tried to rob her of her life and all of her joy. She finally received her healing, and for the first time in over 20 years she rose up out of the broken body that held her captive and she walked through the narrow gates of heaven with her arms stretched to hug her heavenly father's neck who no doubt welcomed her with, "well done my good and faithful servant," as he led her to his throne to her rightfully deserved seat at the right hand side of him, where she now continues her job as warrior of Christ, watching us, guiding us from above.

Our mama left behind a legacy. She was an example of faith, God's grace, and his mercy. Our mama fought back with all she had. Through her life she owned restaurants, wrote music, and painted. But what many would consider special about her was the way she carried her faith in spite of what was ailing her, and used it to be a light, to witness and guide and love. To be an example of Christ was her goal and there is no doubt that she far exceeded that. The strongest, most beautiful woman and soul we know has left this earth, but only to prepare our home as she waits for us to arrive.

She loved her kids, grandkids, and she definitely loved our daddy. The love shown as they fought together was also a testimony. And she will be so missed.

Our mama's Services will be held at 2:00PM at the Lighthouse Fellowship Church in Barnsdall. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory

*I miss my Auntie. We had a special bond from the time I was a baby. She was only a teenager then and I'm told she would rush home from school to come over so she could play with me. She taught me many things. She would let me sit on her lap and pretend to be driving, while she was really driving the car. LOL. I loved watching her put on make up and get dressed up. I loved her unique laugh that made me laugh harder. I loved it when she would sing duets with my Uncle Ricky to the Eagles songs. I so loved her free spirit...just so full of life and laughter.

And as I got older, I appreciated the conversations. The deep, long conversations. I can still hear her call me "baby" and I knew she understood me.

But most of all I miss her incredible faith displayed daily, despite the ugly disease that overtook her physical body. Every day she would have something to praise God about and would always encourage others to do the same. That is amazing. That is a testimony. That is her legacy.

I really love and miss you Aunt Kathy. But I know you're now with Grandma Scoot and your babies who have gone before you, and I too will see you again one day.

Love and prayers to my sweet Uncle John and cousins. Prayers and comfort today and always:pray::heartpulse:

You have been my mom's best friend for 40 years, you were like a second mother to me growing up. You have always been a strong, beautiful woman. I love you so much and will miss you greatly. Until we meet again. RIP

*No one can prepare you for the feelings you have when your momma leaves this earth. So sorry for the pain yet very excited that Kathy has seen Jesus face to face and no longer battles against the things of this world! Much love to you all. Your momma would tell you keep your eyes on Him.
