Patsy Jo Harper passed away after a brief battle with cancer on April 27, 2018 at the age of 80.  She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Joe Charles Harper; daughter and son-in-law Karen and Prentice Wilson; grandsons Josh and Jordan Wilson, granddaughters Julia and Jillian Wilson, and great-grandsons Harper and Parker Wilson.  She is preceded in death by her son Robert Wayne Harper; parents Roy and Della Stanfield; brothers Clifford and Faunell Stanfield; and sister Opal Cody.

Patsy was born in Pasadena on June 29, 1937.  At the ripe age of 14 years old she eloped with the love of her life, Joe Charles, to Hope, Arkansas on March 21, 1952 where they began their life together.  Pat and Joe had two children, Bobby and Karen, and her whole life was devoted to being a stay at home wife and mother raising her children.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Deer Park for 20 years and a member of the Merry Heart Sunday School Class and Silver Set Department.  She had a passion for the Hair Ministry at the San Jacinto Manor Nursing Home and spent many countless hours volunteering there.  She loved to travel and was able to experience an Alaska Cruise about 8 years ago with her family which was a treasured memory for her.  Patsy was a devoted wife, mother, and mamaw that loved nothing more than being in the kitchen trying a new recipe or baking some of her homemade oatmeal cookies.

Patsy will be sorely missed by all that loved her.

The funeral service will be at 2:00pm Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Niday-Fairmont Funeral Home in Pasadena, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Grand View Memorial Park.
