Robert L. Sikes, 81, of Pooler, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018 peacefully at home under the care of Compassionate Care Hospice and surrounded by family and friends after a long battle with Parkinson’s and Dementia. He was born in Collins, Georgia and relocated to Savannah in 1962 to work for Mutual Fertilizer Plant and Kaiser Chemical. He served in the Army National Guard from 1959 to 1965. In later years he owned and operated his own painting and lawn care service. He was a hard-working man who did everything he could to provide for his family. When he wasn’t working he enjoyed spending time with family and fishing. He was a faithful member of Pooler First Baptist Church, and enjoyed the men’s breakfast fellowship. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Jewell B. Sikes and brother, Willie Charles Sikes. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral: 1 p.m. Thursday at the Pooler First Baptist Church located at 204 U.S. Hwy. 80. Burial will follow at Bonaventure Cemetery. Thomas C.
