Phyllis Darlene Montgomery, the daughter of the late William Reed and Kate Abernathy Reed, was born March 29, 1939, in Gideon, MO.
She was of the Church of Christ faith.
On January 1, 2002 she was united in marriage to Hollas Montgomery. He survives.
She was previously married to Sam Ellsworth in July of 1957. He preceded her in death on February 27, 1988.
Mrs. Montgomery died Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at her residence in Dexter, at the age 79 years.
Survivors include her husband, Hollas Montgomery of Dexter, MO; 1 son, Terry Ellsworth of Jefferson City, MO; 3 step daughters, Sharon Helfrich and husband, Eugene of Columbia, IL, Joyce Thompson of Summerfield, FL and Sherry Montgomery of Cape Girardeau, MO; 1 step son, Carroll Montgomery and wife, Ethleen of Dexter, 1 sister, Connie Sue Jones and husband, Howard of Dexter; 1 grandchild, Michelle Loughary and husband, Justin of Malden; 9 step grandchildren; 1 great grandchild, Reagan Loughary also of Malden; 14 step great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded by 1 son, Samuel Wayne Ellsworth; 1 step son, Terry Montgomery; 2 brothers, Wayne Reed and W.R. Reed; 3 sisters, Francis Montgomery, Wanda Wood and Thelma Reed.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 27, 2018, at 2:00 P.M. at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden. A Memorial service will follow at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel. Burial will be in Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton, MO.
