The son of William Harrison and Belle (Logsdon) Kessinger and husband of Kathryn May Brown, Joe resided on East Washington Street and was an engineer for the Louisville & Nashville Railroad. He died of Hodgkin's Disease at Nichols Veterans Administration Hospital at the age of 51, and was interred at Calvary on 1 May 1948.
