Charles O. Amick, 77, of Roaring Spring, passed away Saturday April 28, 2018 at UPMC-Altoona.
He was born December 22, 1940 in New Enterprise, son of the late Walter and Hannah (Dell) Amick.
He married Ruth Smith September 26, 1958 in Winchester, VA.
Surviving are his wife of Roaring Spring, a son Thomas and wife Glenda of Houston, TX, a daughter Linda Norris and companion Robert Dodson of Roaring Spring, special friend Steve Miller, 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and four brothers Fred and George Free and Russell and Joe Oldham.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Deborah Heeter, a son Richard and a grandson Corey.
Charles retired from New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company in 2004 after 43 years of service and was previously employed at Mattern Orchard.
He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion and social member of the V.F.W. and enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and socializing.
Friends will be received on Thursday May 3, 2018 from 5-8 P.M. at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday May 4, 2018 at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Smith officiating.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be given to your local humane society.
