On Tuesday, Oct. 15, 1918, at the home of his wife's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Pride, in Pulaski, occurred the death of John W. Barclay. Mr. Barclay was a son of John Barclay of Port Ontario and was born thirty-seven years ago at New Centerville. His mother's maiden name was Carl and for several years when a small boy he was a resident with his parents in the southern part of the town of Sandy Creek. He was a nephew of Mrs. S.J. Weldon of Lacona.

On December 23, 1913 he was united in marriage to Miss May Louise Pride, at Pulaski. He was in the employ of the International Harvester Co. As his illness had been of short duration his death came as a shock to the community where he lived.

He was a member of Mexico Lodge, F. and A.M., Pulaski Lodge, I.O.O.F., Ringgold Fire Co. and Ontario Association Patrons of Industry.

He is survived by his father, John Barclay of Port Ontario and five brothers, William of Port Ontario, Seth of Mexico, James of Geneva, Andrew of Perth Amboy and George Barclay of Ellisburg. Private funeral services were held Thursday afternoon Rev. Charles T. Holcomb officiating. Burial in Woodlawn cemetery at Sandy Creek.
