With heavy hearts the McCoy family announces the passing of Larry McCoy. He will be interred at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona with full military honors at 10:00am, Friday June 8, 2018 at 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd. Phoenix, AZ 85024. In accordance with his wishes, a Celebration of Life filled with family, memories, love, and laughter will follow.Larry traveled the world, but was born in Ontario, Canada. He also lived in Tennessee, Alabama, Texas, New Jersey, Colorado, and Arizona. He loved family, laughter, teasing, and, as many can attest, concocting award-winning pranks. He enjoyed traveling, wood working, animals, and NASCAR. His commitment as a volunteer fire fighter was of the utmost importance to him. Larry served this country in the Vietnam War as a member of the 173rd Army Airborne Brigade which was later folded into the 82nd Airborne, whose insignia he proudly displayed. He now goes with the "brothers" that he served with and always remembered.
He will be greatly missed by his best friend and wife Helen; daughters Amanda, Terrie, and Shannon; stepdaughter Joni; sons-in-law Bret and James; step son-in-law Steve; grandchildren Valerie, Nicholas, Alaina, and Amanda; step grandchildren Jake, Sandy, and Christie; grandson-in-law Jeffrey; cherished great grandson Emmett; and sisters Margaret, Joyce, and Patricia. Larry is preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Katie, brother William "Jack," beloved brothers-in-law Elmer "Mike" and Richard, and stepson Sean. He touched the lives and hearts of countless people including friends, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
