Paul Ralph Douglas, 89, of Quarryville, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018, at Conestoga View Nursing & Rehabilitation. He was the beloved husband of Rosalee (Sheets) Douglas, with whom he shared 29 years of marriage.

Born in Fulton Township, he was the son of the late J. Paul and Estella (Hagen) Douglas.

Ralph was employed in the automotive industry as a mechanic, service manager, and salesman, working for Douglas Garage, Ferguson Motors, Stoner-Wade Ford, and, most recently, Bledsoe's Automotive and Hardware. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, attaining the rank of Sergeant, and earning the Korean Service Medal with 3 Campaign Stars and a United Nations Service Medal.

A skilled mechanic, Ralph was well known for rebuilding carburetors. In his spare time, he enjoyed puzzles, playing spider solitaire, and following the Eagles and Phillies. Ralph also had a love for animals, especially his cats, Clyde and Sissy.

In addition to his wife, Ralph is survived by his children, Michele Haupt, and husband Jeff, of Willow Street, and Michael Douglas, of Lancaster; step-children, Karen Sizemore, and partner Kim Novak, of Willow Street, Carol Davis, and husband Stephen, of Paradise, and Tom Sizemore, and wife Missy, of Peach Bottom; a sister, Jean Lewis, of Lancaster; grandchildren, Chris and Dan Unger, and Jenna Deaver; step-grandchildren, Eddie Monk, Fred, Anthony, and Molly Ambroziak, and Frank and William Sizemore; 8 great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Dewald Funeral and Cremation Services, 227 West 4th Street, Quarryville, with Pastor Cheryl Zegers officiating. A viewing will be held at the funeral home from 10 – 11 a.m. In accordance with Ralph's wishes, casual dress is requested. Interment will be private.

The Douglas family extends a special thanks to the staff and doctors of Conestoga View, especially Maggie on 1st shift and Wayne on 2nd shift, for the excellent care they provided for Ralph.
