Martha "Moe" Cecilia Maloney Keilty was born 20 NOV 1931 in West Chester, PA. She was the daughter of Augustin J. Maloney, and Cecilia Elizabeth Hoyt Maloney. Martha was the youngest of their 3 children. Her sisters were Jane Herbert Maloney Fraser, and Ellen Hoyt Maloney Torrence. Martha was the great-niece of the late Cornelius Maloney, founder of the Waterbury Democrat in Waterbury, CT and the late Arthur Quigley, CEO of the former American Brass Co. She married Michael Joseph Keilty, the son of Frederick Keilty, and Sarah Bryan Keilty, on 02 JUL 1949 in Waterbury. Martha and Michael were married by the Reverend Thomas Ouinan at St. Michael's Church, 1434 Thomaston Ave. Martha was 17 and had just graduated from Thomaston High School, Class of 1949. Michael was 19 and serving in the U.S. Navy. Children of Martha and Michael are Peter Michael, Michael Joseph Jr., Cecilia Ann, Martha Ruth and Mark Bryan Keilty. She was also the aunt of Susan Fraser and Ellen and Sarah Torrence. Martha was a homemaker. She died 06 OCT 1956 at the age of 23 in Waterbury, and is buried at Mount Saint James Cemetery, Watertown. Martha shares a monument with Michael's parents, Frederick and Sarah Keilty.

Mrs. Keilty's Death
Due To Natural Causes

The death of Mrs. Martha Cecilia (Maloney) Keilty was due to a pulmonary embolism, according to D. Edward H. Kirschbaum, Medical examiner.

The 23-year-old wife of Michael J. Keilty, 30 Terrace Ave., Waterville, was dead on arrival at St. Mary's Hospital yesterday.

Born Nov. 20, 1931, in Westchester Pa., she was the daughter of Augustin and Cecilia (Hoyt) Maloney, now of Thomaston. She had been a resident of Waterville for the past four years. Mrs. Keilty was a communicant of St. Michael's Church, Waterville.

Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by three sons, Peter, Michael Jr., and Mark; two daughters, Cecilia and Martha, all of Waterville; two sisters, Mrs. Jane Anderson and Mrs. Robert Torrence, both of Thomaston.

The funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from the Hickcox Funeral Home, 195 Main St., Watertown, to St. Michael's Church, Waterville, for a solemn high Mass at 10. Burial will be in Mt. St. James Cemetery, Watertown. Friends may call at the funeral home tomorrow from 7 to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 10 p.m.
