Oct 2, 2017

In keeping with the Master's plan, Bonnie L. Fisher of Kanawha City walked the valley of death with her Savior by her side, the One who never leaves us or forsakes us.

Always thankful for Christian parents, Bonnie L. Fisher, daughter of the late Alfred and Opal McDerment Williams of St. Albans died September 30, 2017.

Bonnie attended Highlawn Grade School and grew up in the Highlawn section of St. Albans where some godly women held "Bible Band" every Tuesday with prayer, songs and bible lessons. Bonnie graduated in the St. Albans High School, class of '57. Upon graduation, she began working for Union Carbide at the Institute Plant and later transferred to Bldg. 82 at South Charleston. After receiving her B.S. degree in Education from West Virginia State College (now University), she taught at Cross Lanes Christian School, Garnet Career School and Poca High School. Bonnie later returned to Union Carbide at the Technical Center and retired with 28 years of service.

Bonnie was an active member of the Quota Club of South Charleston, the Carbide Oldtimers' Club, the Woman's Club of Charleston, the Christian Women's Club and SAHS Class of '57 monthly luncheons. Bonnie was also a member of the Carbide Seniors Bowling League and the Carbide Ladies' Golf League.

Bonnie will be interred at Sunrise Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, give generously to Union Mission, P.O. Box 112, Charleston WV 25321 for the community's physical and spiritual needs or WV Health Right, 1520 Washington St. E., Charleston WV 25311 for its medical needs.

Always thankful for good Bible teachers -- Edgar Delaney at Community Chapel in St. Albans; Pastor James Efaw at Cross Lanes Bible Church; Appalachian Bible College teachers at Bible Center Church; Bill Crowder of Open Bible Church and Pastor Jesse Waggoner at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Charleston. These pastors enhanced Bonnie's understanding of the inspiration of scripture, God's creation, deity, trinity, blood atonement, resurrection, the rapture and Christ's return to Earth to claim his own.

Many thanks to the complete staff at CAMC Memorial and especially to doctors and their office staffs: Drs. Bailey, Jubilerer, Elwood, DiBlasi, Duncan, Rahman, Jami, Wittsberger and Lowhan. Thanks also go to the caring ministries of Pastor David Jones and Pastor Lee Swor.

Bonnie was predeceased by granddaughter Caralyn Grace Fisher. Survivors include her loving husband Douglas R. of Charleston; children: Donald (granddaughters Leah and Kayla (Morris), great-grandson Kadon); June (Mike) Pitzer (grandsons Jonathan, Benjamin and Ethan); Jeffrey (Rachel) Fisher (grandsons Andrew and Alex); and David Fisher; sister, Shirleen (James) Lipscomb; and brother, Alfred Williams; along with numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 1509 Bigley Avenue, Charleston, by Pastor Jesse Waggoner will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 2, with a luncheon in the gymnasium after the service. There will be a visitation at the church two hours before the service.
