A memorial service for Johnny Max Ellis will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 12, at First Baptist Church in Point.

Mr. Ellis died Tuesday, November 1, 2011, at his residence. He was born July 1, 1952, in Arkansas City, Kansas, to Beulah and Frank Ellis.

Johnny moved to Dallas as a child and later moved to Forney where he was raised. Johnny worked as a framer in the construction industry for many years. In July 1994 he married Shelia Duckett. Johnny moved to Point in 1997.

His hobbies included watching the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers and Dallas Mavericks. He also enjoyed playing bass guitar, watching birds, fishing, hunting and being outside.

He is survived by his wife, Shelia of Quinlan; mother, Beulah Ellis of Terrell; sons, Billy Ellis and wife Malana of Lubbock and John Ellis of Dallas; stepson, Jeremy Bowen of Virginia; daughters, Staci Taylor of Rockwall and Juli Thompson and husband Tim of Plano; brother, Billy Ellis of Royse City; sisters, Ruthie Criswell of Canton and Beth Pollard of Mesquite; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Ellis.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan.
