PORTSMOUTH - Jacques Paul Philippe Pages, 80, of 110 Water Street, Portsmouth, RI died Thursday, December 15, 2005 at home.

He was the husband of the late Madeleine (Olivier) Pages.

Born in Foix, France on October 2, 1925, he was the son of the late Paul Andre and Suzanne Marie (Morere) Pages.

Mr. Pages joined the Free French Forces during World War II and was trained in the United States as a navigator for the French Air Force. After the war, he completed his education in France and the United States where he met and married Madeleine Olivier of Fall River, Massachusetts. A widower early in life, Mr. Pages retired as an educator from the Portsmouth Abbey in 1984.

He is survived by his seven children Paul Pages of Portsmouth, RI, Catherine Pages of Seattle, WA, Andree Pages of New York City, NY, Jean Pages of Needham, MA, Pierre Pages of Warsaw, Poland, Charles Pages of Rockland, MA, and Jacques Pages Jr. of Middletown, RI; fourteen grandchildren as well as by his brother, Jean-Marie and his three sisters, Marguerite Vaillancourt of Portsmouth, Irene Pages of Guelph, Ontario, Canada and Catherine Foote of Arlington, Va.

He was the father of the late Michel Pages.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2005, at 11 a.m., with a Mass of Christian burial in Portsmouth Abbey, Corey's Lane, Portsmouth.

Burial will be private.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 19, 2005, from 5-8 p.m., in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Zambarano Memorial Hospital, 2090 Wallum Lake Road, Pascoag, RI 02859.
