She was born February 20, 1927 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Roy G. Watrous and Norma Mary (Kuheim) Watrous. She graduated from Phoenix Union High School, Phoenix, AZ with the class of 1944.
On March 9, 1946 Norma Jeanne was united in marriage with Ed Gardner. This past March was their seventy-second wedding anniversary. They were a loving couple always there to support one another. They loved to spend time traveling the country and were very proud that they had been to all fifty states. They also enjoyed fishing especially at Pomona Lake. Norma Jeanne was also active in her local gardening association as well as Kiwanis in Ottawa.
Norma Jeanne was a lifelong homemaker and housewife. She also held jobs as a mobile home salesperson and a dental assistant.
Norma Jeanne is survived by her loving husband, Ed Gardner, Ottawa and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Roy “Bud” Watrous, Henry Watrous, Chester Watrous; and a sister, Rosemary Gardner.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m., Wednesday May 2, 2018, at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, Ottawa. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home prior to the service Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
