Butler W. Addis, 82, husband of Bonnie Jones Addis, of 580 Paddie Lane, West Union, SC passed away Sunday, December 17, 2006 at Anderson Area Medical Center. A native of Oconee County, Mr. Addis was the son of the late Jess Lawrence, Sr. and Minnie Lee Butler Addis. He was the owner/operator of Walhalla Gin for many years and was a member of Open Door Baptist Church. Mr. Addis was a World War II veteran of the US Army Air Corps. He was a member of the Oconee County Cattlemen's Association.

In addition to his wife of the home, Mr. Addis is survived by: sons, William B. Addis, Walhalla, SC, Stephen C. Addis, Greenwood, SC; daughters, Marianne A. Dillard, West Union, SC, Janet L. Addis, Boston, MA.; brother, J. Dawson Addis, Columbia, SC; sister, Gertrude Tharpe, Birmingham, AL.; grandchildren, Lee Dillard, Caroline, Lauren, Matthew, Dawson, Olivia and Victoria Addis; great-granddaughter, Sarah Mills-Dillard.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Addis was predeceased by brother, Jess L. Addis, Jr.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 19, 2006 from the Chapel of Davenport Funeral Home. Burial will be in Heritage Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM, Monday, December 18, 2006 at Davenport Funeral Home.
