George Michael "Mike" Terry, 66, of Siler City went home to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, April 28, 2018
Mike was born in Chatham County on February 13, 1952, the son of George C. and Eunice (Allen) Terry. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, a former Deacon and member of the Victory in Christ Sunday School Class. He was co-owner and operator of Bestfood Cafeteria and Hayley Bales Steak House. Mike’s faith in God was an anchor in his life, and he was devoted to his family; he loved everyone. Mike gave so many great memories to each of us. Mike is now free of his burden of cancer. He dealt with his cancer as though there was nothing wrong with him. He loved the outdoors, especially going camping and to the beach. Mike was blessed with the gift of gab and loved talking to people. He was well known as a jokester!
Mike is survived by his wife of 45 years: Janice Poe Terry, daughters: Alyssa T. Webster and husband, Chris of Bear Creek, and Jessica T. Hughes and husband, Josh of Mars Hill, son: Christopher Terry and wife, Stephanie of Siler City; grandchildren, Caleb, Hallie and Ansleigh Webster; mother, Eunice Allen Terry of Siler City, brother: Don Terry and wife, Cathy of Snow Camp, In-laws, Steve and Marcelle Poe; special nephew, Bruce Terry; and an "adopted son", Dylan Gaines.
The family will receive friends Monday, April 30, 2018 from 6:00 til 8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Fellowship Baptist Church, 120 Fellowship Church Road, Siler City with Rev. Jason Golden and Rev. Josh Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
