Michael E. “Mike” Daley, 66, of Greencastle, PA went to be with our Lord on
Wednesday, April 25, 2018, after passing away peacefully at his daughter’s home in Fayetteville, PA.
Born in Hagerstown, MD, on March 6, 1952, he was the son of the late Angle M. Daley, Jr. and Virginia L. Hoover Daley Wolfe. He was also preceded in death by three sisters.
He was a1970 graduate of Greencastle Antrim High School.
He was a lifetime member of Pleasant Hill United Brethren Church in Coseytown, PA.
He retired from Mack Trucks/Volvo in Hagerstown, MD after 36 years of service.
He married his wife of 46 years, Debra K. Iden Daley on December 11, 1971 in Hancock, MD.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Sheila E. Daley Headley and husband Jason of Fayetteville, PA; one son, Philip E. Daley and wife Tina of Waynesboro, PA; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by 4 brothers; Angle M. Daley, III of Greencastle, PA; Steven W. Daley and wife April of Waynesboro, PA; James A. Daley and wife Stefanie of Clear Spring, MD; Samuel D. Daley and wife Shawn of Greencastle, PA; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was an avid hunter and enjoyed swapping hunting and snow stories with his son and brothers. He loved taking and sharing pictures and videos he took, especially ones that included snow; he would get excited about the intricacy of each individual snowflake! He enjoyed his Wheel Horse Tractors and attending tractor shows with his son. He was a man with a sense of humor, and a healthy appetite. Going out to eat brought him immense pleasure! Most of all, He always held close to his heart all the opportunities spent with family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, April 30, 2018 in Pleasant Hill United Brethren Church, 3664 Coseytown Road, Greencastle, with Rev. Gayle Ruble, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in the adjacent church cemetery.
There will be no viewing; however the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.
