JOSEPH ROY EATON
June 28, 1931 - April 22, 2018

Joseph R. Eaton, age 86, of El Dorado Springs, MO. passed away at Cedar County Memorial Hospital on Sunday, April 22, 2018. Joe was born on June 28, 1931, in Dearborn, MO., to Edward L. Eaton and Margaret L. (Dippo) Eaton.

Joe married Mary M. Herrman on June 7, 1954, and they were married sixty-three years. To this union one child was born, Debbie A. (Eaton) Wosoba.

Joe served in the Air Force until he was honorably discharged in 1952. He then joined the Kansas City, Missouri, Masonry Union and received an honorary award for his sixty years of service.

Joe was an avid hunter and fisherman until his health no longer allowed him to do so. He also enjoyed raising fruits and vegetables in his garden. He enjoyed woodworking and made many things, such as garden baskets and scroll-saw art. He was also an avid card player, with canasta and pinochle being among his favorite games. He also enjoyed the company of his two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Joe in death were his parents, Edward and Margaret Eaton; and eleven siblings.

Survivors include his wife, Mary M. Eaton, of El Dorado Springs; one sister, Betty Finley, of Peculiar, MO.; one brother, Raymond L. Eaton and wife, Cathy, of Springfield, MO.; one brother-in-law, Charles Carson, of El Dorado Springs; one sister-in-law, Georgia Eaton, of Lowry City, MO.; daughter, Debbie Wosoba and husband, John of El Dorado Springs; two grandchildren, Tressa Wosoba and fiancée, Travis Burchett, of El Dorado Springs, and Sean Wosoba of El Dorado Springs; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Memorial services for Joe Eaton will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home with Bro. Stanley Vilhauer officiating. Inurnment with full military honors will follow at Clintonville Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
