D. Naomi Shinkle Buckle, 89, died March 7, 1999, at Leisure Homestead, Stafford.

She was born July 31, 1909, at rural Liberal, the daughter of Francis and Nora Johnson Shinkle. A Stafford resident for most of her adult life, she taught first grade at Leesburg rural school and later at Stafford for 33 years retiring in 1972.

She belonged to First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, the City Teachers Association, was a charter member of the Stafford County Historical and Genealogical Society, Business and Professional Women, and the North Star Community Club, all at Stafford, and Delta Kappa Gamma.

On July 26, 1932, she married William R.H. Buckle at St. John. He died Nov. 13, 1992.

Survivors include: a daughter, Barbara Grimmett and her husband Clayton, Wichita; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral: 1:00 p.m. today, Wednesday, March 10, at Minnis Chapel, Stafford, with Rev. Kasey Crosby officiating. Burial in Stafford Cemetery.

Memorials to the Stafford County Museum, First United Methodist Church or to Leisure Homestead, all in care of Minnis Chapel, Stafford.
