Former Salant & Salant and Hutson’s Green House employee Ila Mae Evans, 81, of McKenzie died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010, at Henry County Healthcare Center.

Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at McEvoy Funeral Home.

Ed Davis from New Liberty Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will follow in Bevil Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bruce Flanagan, Josh and Greg McClain, Wesley Overman, Travis Beecham and Clyde Barnard.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Barnard, Austin McClain and Andrew Haines.

Born Nov. 26, 1928, in Henry County, she was a daughter of the late Dewey and Minnie Simpson Marcum.

She was married on Feb. 9, 1946 to Marshall Evans, who died Feb. 14, 1969.

She leaves two daughters: Brenda Lou (Bruce) Flanagan of Lexington and Rhonda Jean (Clyde) Barnard of McKenzie; one son: Elwood (Jane) Evans of Paris; four grandchildren: Kimberly (Travis) Beecham, Michelle (Josh) McClain, James (Amanda) Barnard and Nicole (Wesley) Overman; and four great-grandchildren: Greg and Austin McClain, Andrew Haines and Allyson Beecham.

She also was preceded in death by three sisters: Margaret Marcum in infancy, Pauline Atchison and Orene Webb; and two brothers: Otis and Billy Joe Marcum.
