Kathy Ann Thomas, daughter of Emit Sylvester Thomas and Beatrice "Bea" Marlowe Thomas, wed Orville John Griffith on 9 December 1977, Bell County, KY...Kathy Ann Thomas Griffith gave birth to their son, Christopher Todd Griffith, on 8 April 1980, and Kathy Ann Thomas Griffith died on 9 April 1980 at the UK Medical Center, Lexington, Kentucky,from the effects of toxemia pregnancy, plus, the ambulance did not have sufficent oxygen to transport Kathy from the Middlesboro Hospital to UK Medical Center, Lexington, KY. Kathy and her husband Johnny Griffith were never informed by doctors that she had toxemia until Kathy had seizures during her delivery at the Middlesboro Hospital. Christopher Todd Griffith suffered brain damage due to lack of oxygen and was born with cerebral palsy.
