Funeral Service at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, OK, 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 1, 2018 with burial in the Walters Cemetery.
Sandra Sue “Sandy” (Cleaver) Hart was born to Harrell Willard “Bill” and Alice Vivian “PeeWee” (Brownlee) Cleaver on December 10, 1943 at Monroe, LA and departed this life in El Reno, OK on April 26, 2018 at the age of 74 years, 4 months and 16 days.
Sandy grew up a military child, living in Louisiana, Puerto Rico, Nebraska and Oklahoma to name a few of the places. She graduated from Altus High School in 1962 and eventually became the managing editor of the Altus Times. She married Bob Hart on November 20, 1973 at Altus. Eventually with the kids raised, the couple moved to El Reno, OK in 1984 where she worked as the advertising director for the El Reno Tribune until she and Bob opened and operated a printing company known as New Age Graphics for a number of years.
In 1980 she had enjoyed a trip to Germany with the Military Airlift Command out of Altus Air Force Base. Also, while in Altus she served as Chairman and President of the United Way from 1973-1978. In El Reno she served as president of the Rotary Club and also served as the Chairman of El Reno Main Street. She enjoyed doing water paintings, crossword puzzles, reading and playing golf.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Alice Cleaver, and her sister, Carol Kreutzer.
Survivors include her husband, Bob Hart, of the home; her son, Jerry DeFord and Sherry Latham of Goldsby, OK; son, Jeff Hart and Juli of Walters, OK; Sherri Newport and David of Peoria, AZ; grandchildren, Drake Diacon, Britane and Jason Outlaw, Michael and Morgan Hart, Sam and Neil Stepanek, Ashley and Seth Adams, Steven Newport and Madesyn Newport; great grandkids, Gwenny Boese, Becklynn Hart, Lincoln and Ralston Stepanek, Todd and Taylor Adams; 3 nieces Jean, Cory and Patty Kreutzer of Aurora, CO; a cousin, Kirk Brownlee of Houston; many Hart in-laws, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
