Services for Fred E. Freeman, 91, of Tyler, will be held on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. in the Stewart Family Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Kenn Somerville and Jesse Peterson officiating. Burial will follow at Cathedral in the Pines in Tyler under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.

Mr. Freeman went to Heaven on Thursday, April 26, 2018 in Tyler. He was born December 20, 1926 in Valley Junction, Texas to the late F.E. Freeman and Sadie L. Freeman.

Fred retired from Tyler Pipe Industries after 39 1/2 years of working as a molder. Fred was a founding member of CrossPointe Community Church in 2006, where he served on the advisory board and as an elder. He was a former member of First Assembly of God Church in Tyler for approximately 70 years. Fred was a greeter at the church door every Sunday for over 35 years and served as a Royal Rangers leader.

Fred graduated from Tyler High School. He was a proud veteran having served in the United States Army, and was deployed in WWII to Japan.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Chauncy Freeman; and sisters, Edna Baker and Margaret Freeman. He is survived by his loving family, including his wife, Ina Lee, of 66 years; daughter, Sandra Correa and husband Luis; granddaughter, Lee Correa Shepherd and husband Cory; and grandson Luis Correa, Jr. and fiancee Summer Mears.

Pallbearers will be Luis X. Correa Sr., Luis Correa Jr., Cory Shepherd, Jeff Campbell, Dale Robertson and Duane Cooper. Honorary pallbearers will be Willie "Bud" Cooper and Don Spradlin.

Visitation is scheduled from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, 2018, at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.
