Derek Paul White age 66 of Zion, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2018 at Froedtert South - St. Catherine's Medical Center, Kenosha, WI. He was born October 23, 1951 in Chicago, IL to the union of Norman White and Althea Ellison White Green.
He enlisted in the U S Army serving in Vietnam and then the Army Reserve for 19 years attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant.
He worked for the Veterans Administration at the North Chicago Veterans Administration Medical Center as a technician for the PTSD Program till his retirement in 2003.
Beloved husband of Catherine "Cathy" nee: Parker, Loving father of Shawna White and Ciara White of Zion. Cherished son of Dolores White of Orlanldo, FL. Dear brother of Rev. George (Sara) White of Riverdale, MD, Michael Green of Chicago, Doreen (Robert) Fisher of Venice, CA, Anita (David) Calloway of Atlanta, GA, Andrea (James) Liggins of Orlando, FL and Meridith Tharp of Orlando, FL. Fond nephew of Paul (Mattie) Ellison, David White and Elaine Mayo. Dear uncle and friend to many.
Visitation Monday, April 30, 2018 10:00 am until time of funeral service 11:00 am at the Seguin & Symonds Funeral Home, 858 Sheridan Rd., Highwood. Rev. George White, officiating.
Interment with Military Honors will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
