Eli G. "Bud" Moore Jr., of Marianna, died Wednesday, April 25, 2018.

He was born October 20, 1931, in Marianna, a son of the late Cora Evelyn Ames Moore and Eli Gordon Moore Sr.

He attended West Bethlehem Township Schools. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954.

Mr. Moore worked as a coal miner and motor mechanic at Beth Energy Mine #58 in Marianna for 36 years and was also a custodian at Bethlehem-Center High School for six years.

On February 5, 1955, he married Elizabeth Moore, who died September 4, 2014.

He was a member of Marianna United Methodist Church and served as its custodian.

He and his late wife also ran the food pantry at the church for 25 years.

He was also a member of American Legion Post 744 in Marianna, was a UMWA member for 50 years, and played in the church's dart ball league.

Eli is survived by two daughters, Sherie Moore (Walter) Gossett and Lily Moore (Dean) Howard; a son, Alex G. (Nancy) Moore; a sister, JoAnn Kubichar; a brother, William "Bill" Moore; five grandchildren, Ray (Leslie) Gossett, Desiree (Justin) Gamel, Ryan (Valerie) Howard, Jeremy (Trish) Howard and Holly (Brian) Boggs; and six great-grandchildren, Mary Gossett, Daniel Gamel, Mitchell Gamel, Sierra Howard, Cameran Howard and Asher Boggs.

Deceased, in addition to his parents and wife, are three sisters, Evelyn Huggins, Ruth Ross, and Esther Bates.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Nichol Funeral Home, 1728 Main Street, Marianna, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 30, with the Revs. Ray Gossett and Dr. Gary Schneider officiating.

Interment will follow in Horn Cemetery, Marianna. Military rites will be accorded by Marianna American Legion Post 744.
