Donald E. Rife, 71, of Watsontown, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at his home.
He was born April 12, 1947, in Williamsport, a son of the late James E. and Helen P. (Lesher) Rife. On April 15, 1978, he married the former Nancy Weaver who survives. Together they celebrated 40 years of marriage.
Donald was a 1965 graduate of Warrior Run High School. He served honorably in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Donald retired after 26 years as a car salesman for Spangler Motors, Milton. Following retirement, he worked part time as a teller at First National Bank, Watsontown.
He was a member of Follmer Lutheran Church, Milton, a member of the Milton VFW Post 1665, the Clyde F. Mowrer American Legion Post 323, Watsontown, and a former Boy Scout leader.
Donald enjoyed older cars and woodworking in his workshop. Most important to Donald was spending time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Anthony "Tony" and Niki Rife of Parkesburg and Doug Rife of Watsontown; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim Jr. and Gladys Rife of Elizabethtown and John and Irene Rife of Catawissa; one sister and brother-in-law, Sandy and Dave Dersham of McEwensville; and four grandchildren, Alexis Scopelliti and Dyllan, Drayven and Lillian Rife.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Ronald Rife.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, in Twin Hills Memorial Park, 3334 Lycoming Mall Drive, Muncy, with the Rev. John E. Lee, retired United Methodist minister, officiating.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions in Donald's honor be made to the Clyde F. Mowrer American Legion Post 323, 1016 Main St., Watsontown, PA 17777.
The family is being assisted by the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown.
