Viola Mae Pinegar, 86, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa.

Viola was born June 23, 1931, Des Moines, Iowa to William and Irene (Beaman) Folsom. She was a self-employed day care provider for over 45 years. Viola enjoyed reading, sewing, ceramics and oil painting.

She is survived by her children, Raymond (Sharon), Vicky Pinegar and Nancy (Ron) Aasheim, eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Viola was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Pinegar, sons, Joe, Tim and Steven and grandson, Timothy.

Visitation will be held from 5-8pm Monday, April 30, 2018, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be 1pm Tuesday, May 1, also at Hamilton’s, with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Blank Children’s Hospital or American Heart Foundation.
