Randall “Randy” David Storey, Sr., 67, of Rochester, passed away at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at his residence.
Randy was born July 13, 1950 in Granite City, the son of Arnold and Melba Howell Storey. He married Linda Atwood on July 14, 1968. He later married Debra Brenkendorff on June 17, 1988 in Collinsville, IL.
Randy graduated from Triad High School in 1968. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a Gunship Helicopter Pilot. Randy was a member of the VFW Post #10302, Patriot Guard, Veteran PTSD Group, South Fork Gun Club, 189th AHC, and a former member of the Springfield H.O.G. Club Chapter 1116. He enjoyed fishing with his grandkids, going to the shooting range and riding his motorcycle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, George Storey [FAG #189344343].
He is survived by his wife, Debra Storey of Rochester; three children, Lisa (Joseph) Reinhardt of Alhambra, Randall (David) Storey, Jr. of Staunton, and Robert Storey of Granite City; step-daughter, Amber (Gary) Fifer of Springfield; 11 beloved grandchildren; four siblings; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.
Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, Springfield.
Memorial Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
