CLINTON - Memorial services for Kim Newton Rogers, 23,
apparent victim of a boating accident in Willoughby Bay, Norfolk, Va.,
will be at 9:30 Saturday from St. Mary's Church, Clinton.
He lived at Little Bay Ave., Norfolk, and was a former resident of Craig Road, Clinton.
Mr. Rogers was born in Canandaigua,
son of Norris and Gladys Webb Rogers,
and was graduated from Notre Dame High School.
He was also a graduate of Paul Smith's College.
While at Notre Dame High School, he was active in wrestling and cross country.
At college, he was a member of the cross country skiing team and fraternal organizations.
During the summer, he was employed by Niagara Mohawk Power Co.
He was an employee of the Atlantic Division of the Naval Facilities Engineering Command of the Navy as an environmental engineer.
Mr. Rogers was a member of St. Mary's Church and the Sea Explorers of the Boy Scouts.
Surviving besides his parents are a sister, Mrs. John (Kathryn) Meyers of Utica;
two brothers, Kerry and Michael, both of Clinton,
his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank T. Webb of New York Mills
and paternal grandmother, Mrs. Marion Carpenter of Canandaigua, N.Y.

CLINTON —A 23-year-old Clinton man employed as an environmental engineer,
with the Navy in Norfolk, VA,
has been reported missing and presumed drowned in a boating accident in Willoughby Bay, off the coast of Norfolk.
Kim N. Rogers, who began work with the Navy last March,
reportedly had been boating Tuesday night with a 16 year old youth, a son of Rogers' employer.
Coast Guard officials said they found the boat empty Wednesday morning,
with neither man to be found.
The Coast Guard has abandoned the search for the bodies,
according to the man's mother, Mrs. Gladys Rogers of Craig Road.
Newspaper accounts of the incident reported winds at 30 miles an hour in the Willoughby Bay area Tuesday night.
Rogers, also the son of Norris Rogers of Norton Avenue, is said to be an experienced sailor
and was the Utica newspapers' correspondent for a Boy Scout camporee in New Mexico in 1966.
He is a graduate of Notre Dame High School and Paul Smith's College.
His mother is a supervisor of manufacturing employment and safety coordination at Special Metals Corp. in New Hartford.
She returned from Norfolk yesterday.
