He had been in ill health for eight years. He was born in Carlisle, Tenn. on May 12, 1905 and was a resident of Collinsville for 50 years. He was the son of the late Ben Adams and Ollie Keel Adams.
He was employed at the American Zinc Co., Monsanto, Ill. for 10 years until his retirement about eight years ago due to ill health. He was a Veteran of World War I and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 5691.
Funeral will be from the Herbert A. Kassly Funeral Home on Tuesday, Dec. 7 at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Norman L. Surratt, pastor of the Assembly of God Church, will officiate. Interment will in the Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Belleville.
Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mildred [nee Kouhn/Kuhn] Adams; two sons, Ray G. and Kenneth D. Adams, both of Collinsville; two sisters, Mrs. Viola Wyatt of Collinsville and Mrs. Mytle Schwabe of Chicago, Ill.; and four grandchildren.
