Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late George and Catherine Coyle Jones. Shortly after moving to Lancaster County, she was employed by Fulton Bank as a teller and spent 35 years as a dedicated employee. She retired in 1997 to provide care for her adored granddaughter, Alexandra Mae Carpenter.
Mildred regularly donated to charities including the Humane League, The North Shore Animal League, and the S.P.C.A.
Surviving in addition to her granddaughter are a son, Lee C. Carpenter, Landisville, his wife Susan C. Carpenter, beloved cousin Darlene Giancini, her Godson Eugene Giancini, both of Scranton, and cousin Shana Stott of Kansas City, MO.
