Flora E. Coon, 66, employed by Red
Hook Florists until her retirement in
1978, died Jan. 29 at Vassar Brothers
Hospital, Poughkeepsie.
Mrs Coon, of Wiltwyck Garden
Apartments, Kingston, lived in the
area all her life.
She was a charter member of the
Red Hook Post No. 7765, Veterans of
Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary.
She was born in Red Hook July 21,
1920 to Lloyd and Helen Rion Rider.
She was a graduate of Red Hook
High School.
On Sept. 28, 1941 in Kingston she
married Charles R. Coon, who sur-
vives.
Other survivors include two daughters,
Helen Ladensack of Canfield,
Ohio and Joanne Dunne of Tivoii; two
brothers, Merritt Rider of Redding,
Calif, and Joseph Rider of Germantown;
a sister, Olive Hahn of Kingston;
eight grandchildren, three
great-grandchildren and several
nieces and nephews.

Burial was in St. Paul's Lutheran
Cemetery, Red Hook.
