Deborah Kay "Bannister" Barton, 55, passed away peacefully at home with her loving husband, Michael, by her side on Feb. 20, 2018 after battling COPD.

She is survived by her parents, Pat and Bud Bannister, her step daughter, Destin L. Barton, 3 grandchildren ( Jasmine, Dreygen, and Lucian), her sister, Donna Bisson, and her brother, David Bannister. Sister in-law Annette (Johnny Ray) Dykes Jr. She leaves behind several nephews, nieces, other relatives and devoted friends; long time best friends, Flo and Steve Meredith.

Deborah was born July 5th, 1962 in Great Lakes, Illinois. On April 23rd, 1988, she married the love of her life, Michael Barton. She could not believe how lucky she was to find such a kind and generous man who took care of her right to the end.

Deborah loved to play Bingo at the American Legion and hit the slots occasionally. She was an extremely talented and creative individual which was visible during the time she worked at her mother's florist/wedding gift shop. She will be remembered for her spunky, crazy, and sometimes stubborn self. Deborah was best known for living her life under her own terms.

A celebration of life for Deborah will be planned in the near future. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Legion in Gautier, MS.
