"James Darling Cooper, 53, inspector for the Texas and Pacific Railway, died at 11 p.m. Friday at the Texas & Pacific Hospital, in Marshall, Texas, after a lengthy illness. He made his home at 1819 Mentor Street, Dallas. Funeral services are to be held Monday in Dallas with burial in Laurel Land Cemetery. Local arrangements are by Sullivan Funeral Home. Mr. Cooper was a native of Louisiana. He was born May 8, 1910, the son of William David Cooper, a native of Mississippi, and Mrs. Nancy Elizabeth Hearn Cooper, a native of Louisiana. He was a member of the Baptist church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Cornelia Cooper in Dallas; three daughters, Mrs. Betty Jean Myers, Mrs. Loretta Mae Cole and Miss Judy Darling Cooper, all of Dallas; four sons, James Allen Cooper of New Orleans, Louisiana, Henry Lewis Cooper of Houston, Texas, Gerald Dean Cooper of Shirley, Massachusetts, and Billy Ray Cooper of Dallas; five sisters, Mrs. Harry Franklin of Abilene, Mrs. W.H. Smith of Hooks, Mrs. Ray Zirkie of Texarkana, Mrs. L.M. Austin of Jacksboro, and Mrs. J.W. Singleton of Bryan; three brothers, A.C. Cooper of Bryan, W.E. Cooper of Dallas, and Truett Cooper of Fort Worth; and 10 grandchildren"
Upon his passing, JAMES DARLING "J.D." COOPER was laid to rest on April 18, 1964 on the grounds of Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas.
