Nina died Wednesday, April 11, 2007, in Shreveport. A resident of Shreveport, she was born in Mineral Springs, AR and was a former resident of Texarkana, TX. Nina retired from AT&T after 18 ½ years of service. She was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church and The Pathfinders Sunday School Class. Nina enjoyed traveling with her Senior Citizen friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dutch and Lula Cobb; husband, Lewis L. Watkins; and sister, Maurice Teeters.
Survivors are her son, Phillip L. Watkins and wife, Karen; grandchildren, Angela G. Watkins and Jeffrey L. Watkins, all of Shreveport; sister-in-law, Willie Fay Gathright of Plano, TX; nieces, Sherrill Woods of Union City, TN and Jennifer Platt of Ashdown, AR.
Nina's family and friends will remember her hospitality; and her grandchildren will carry on her recipes for Cornbread Dressing and mashed potatoes.
The Watkins family extends their gratitude to Dr. Robert Wilson, Dr. Paul Wilson, Dr. Lawrence Drexler, Dr. Murali Srinivasan and myriad other caregivers.
