Find a Grave contributor Susan Thomas kindly provided biographical information for this memorial:
Cara was a junior in high school and had taken a studio apartment in Denver, where she had been living for just a month. Her mother told reporters that she had found a new apartment and was to be moving in within the week. She saw her parents at their home in Golden on Sunday evening for dinner. She was celebrating her 17th birthday that day.
A friend, Marianne Weaver, 18, had dropped by for a visit the next night, after 9:00. At some point during those next several hours both girls were murdered. A male friend had dropped by after 2 am and discovered their bodies. No arrests have ever been made for their deaths.
