Jeffrey Michael Richards, 68, of Oshkosh, Wisconsin died Thursday, August 28, 2013, from respiratory failure as a complication of bladder cancer.

He was born January 14, 1945 to Robert and Violet (Lindskoog) Richards. Jeff was baptized into the Lutheran faith as an adult, and lived a life devoted to his family and helping others. He served four years in the Air Force during the Vietnam War, and was a member of the Oshkosh Police Department for more than a decade.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Violet.

He is survived by his children Erik (Paige nee McCluskey), Leif (Tarina nee Miller) and Julia (Scott Gospodarek). He is further survived a brother, Jay Richards, sister-in-law, Janice Richards, nephews Jason and Ryan Richards, and niece Caryn Sparacio. He will be forever missed by his beloved grandchildren, Sadie and Stella Richards, Grey and Penya Richards, and Tyler Simpson, who knew him affectionately as “Ogi”.

The family acknowledges with gratitude the care provided to Jeff during his illness by dear friends Robert and Donna Havemann. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 7th at Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, beginning at 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 p.m., the Rev. Jennifer Czarnota officiating. Military honors will be observed following the memorial service.
