WANDA "GAIL" MCKINNEY ASKEW, 78, of Friendswood, TX passed away suddenly and peacefully in her sleep on April 23, 2018.She was born November 21, 1939 to Elzie McKinney and Mabel Brown McKinney in Tupelo, MS.Gail was a native of Tupelo, MS, but lived in the Houston and surrounding area since 1971.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.She enjoyed family life and the outdoors, camping and bird watching with her late husband of 51 years, Jack Askew.Gail was a gifted pianist; she played for several Christian church worship teams, including The Harbor worship team since 2011, who she loved as a family.

Gail was preceded in death by her husband of Houston, TX and her parents of Tupelo, MS.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim Dingell and her husband Chuck of Friendswood, TX; grandson, Reid Dingell of Austin, TX; granddaughter, Casey Dingell of Friendswood, TX; brother, Eddie McKinney and his wife Debbie of Pasadena, TX; niece, Ginger Camille Doler and her husband Kevin, their children, Anna Claire and Jackson of MS; sister-in-law’s, Jean Askew of MS and Virginia Young of AL; and many other relatives and cherished friends.

Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Jeter Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546 (281) 992-7200.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at the Jeter Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.Interment will be held at the Houston National Cemetery in Houston, TX at a later date.
