Funeral services for Mr. Jamie Gerard Rogers, 21, will be held Saturday at
11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas with burial at
Our Lady of Sacred Heart Cemetery in Church Point.

Visitation begins today at noon at Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas and ends
at 10 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. today.

The visitation will continue at 8 a.m. Saturday until time of services.

Mr. Rogers, a resident of Opelousas, died on Thursday, June 3, 1999, at 3:30
p.m. at his residence.

Survivors include: his parents, Glenn and Wanda Guidry Rogers of Opelousas;
two sisters, Chantel Rogers and Chelsea Rogers, both of Opelousas; maternal
grandmother, Elsie Pitre of Opelousas; paternal grandmother, Lydia Rogers of
Scott; maternal grandfather, Burton Guidry of Opelousas; paternal
great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Rogers of Scott; two aunts, Dena
Soileau and husband Vince of Proper, Texas, and Sonja Daniels and husband
Michael of Opelousas; six uncles and their wives, Terry Rogers and wife Pat
of Opelousas, Lanny Guidry and wife Meg of Dripping Springs, Texas, Jody
Guidry and wife Angie of Opelousas, Lyle Guidry and wife Robin of Orange,
Texas, Frank Pitre and wife Connie of Denham Springs, James Dale Pitre and
wife Lori of Longview Texas, also survived by several cousins and a special
friend, Justin Guillory of Opelousas.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Harry Rogers and James Pitre,
and one uncle, John Estilette.

He was a graduate of T.H. Harris School as a machinist and was employed by
Precision Tools in New Iberia.
