Father link Suggested By: fairlawn, 7 Dec 2019∼My grandma and grandpa Davis traveled by covered wagon from Texas to Oklahoma shortly after their marriage on February 24th, 1918. They made their home in Haskell, Oklahoma. There they raised seven children. In 1972, my grandma was admitted to the Haskell Nursing Home where she passed away on June 26th, 1974. I remember growing up and going to grandma's house where she always had lots of flowers outside. She also had a lot of flowers inside as well. I always thought that when I grew up, I wanted flowers like that! Unfortunately, I didn't have a "green thumb" for growing things! But, after I became a grandma myself, me and one of my granddaughters planted some purple irises that were off-shoots from some my German ancestors brought over when they came to America in 1845. I don't know if it was of where the flowers came from or my grandma put in a good word with God, but our irises grew to be so pretty! Ever since then, any flowers I plant, have done well. I miss you grandma and look forward to the day I will see you again!
