Melba Letha Adams, 94, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, Indiana.

She was born in Boone County on February 14, 1924, the daughter of the late John Clarence Abston and Luella Merle (Shirley) Abston.

On December 29, 1945, she was married to Marion LaMar Adams at her parent’s home in Indianapolis.
He passed away November 28, 2015. They celebrated 69 loving years together.

Melba was a life resident of Boone County. She graduated from Perry Central in 1942. Melba worked for General Motors as a switchboard and clerical operator. She was laid off for one year at GM, during that time she worked for Western Electric. Melba returned to General Motors, retiring in 1982.

Melba was a member of Hope Community Church in Lebanon.

Lasley-Maue and husband, David – Lebanon, Indiana, Marion Gregg Adams and wife, Wanda – Noblesville, Indiana, Seven Grandchildren: John Lasley and wife, Chris, Jennifer Lasley, Shana Irwin and husband, Brian, Scott O’Bryan and wife, Susan, Joshua (Holly) Adams, Mark (Mallory) Adams, Kristyn Adams, Three Step Grandchildren: Adam Warrick, Andrew Warrick, and Jenna Warrick , Six Great Grandchildren: John Lasley, Sabrina Lasley, Ethan O’Bryan, Autumn Barnes, Wyatt Adams, McKenzie Adams, Four Step Great Grandchildren: Brittany and Jarrod Irwin, Rob and Katie Dukes.
Considered Grandchildren: Brian Howenstein and Megan Lin Sosbe.

In addition to her parents, Melba was preceded in death by a son-in-law; John Lasley, brother; Darrell Keith Abston, sister; Eleanor Barnett and Melba’s twin; Mildred Adams.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana, with Rev. Billy Watts and Rev. Dwight Williams, officiating.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home in Lebanon. Interment will follow services at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, Indiana.
