Actor. After studying at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, England, he made his professional acting debut in the role of 'Professor Dingley' in the play "Goodbye, My Fancy" at the Liverpool Playhouse in 1957. This was followed with his performances on the London Stage in the production "Five Finger Exercise" in 1959 and during this period, he made his debut on British television with a role on the program "ITV Play of the Week." He made his motion picture debut in the film "Sink the Bismarck!" (1960) and expanded his stage career internationally, when he performed on Broadway in "MacBeth", as 'Malcolm' in 1962. His best-known role was that of 'David Main' in the TV series "The Main Chance" (1969 to 1974). His other film credits include "Bitter Harvest" (1962), "Juggernaut" (1974), "Brannigan" (1975", "The Omen" (1976) and "A Bridge Too Far" (1977). He was formerly married to actresses Virginia Stride and April Wilding.
