Janice Tignor Hobson, 77, of Lebanon, Va., passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018. Born in Russell County, Va., on October 12, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Oakley and Hazel Gilbert Tignor.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Katheryn "Kitty" Vencill; sister, Bernice Rubarth; brother, Teddy Max Tignor, Johnny Tignor; and father-in-law, Jim Hobson.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, John C. Hobson Sr.; children, John C. Hobson Jr. and wife Judy; Mona Cantrell & husband Wiley, and Scotty Hobson, all of Lebanon; son-in-law, Steve Vencill and wife Jane of Belfast, Va.; grandchildren, James Hobson and wife Jessica, Jarrod Hobson and wife Juhi, Nick Vencill, Macy Brown and husband Corey, Clay Cantrell, Alexis Cantrell, and Gracie Hobson; great-grandchildren, Charlee Hobson and Brady Brown; sisters, Joyce Carter and husband James, Midway, Tenn., Martha Bates and husband John, Marysville, Pa., and Shirley Urich and husband Ron of Enola, Pa; brother, Harry Tignor of Elkton, Md.; mother-in-law, Lillian Hobson; sisters-in-law, Ramona Ashmore and husband Fred, all of Decatur, Ala. and Connie Dotson and husband Joe of Abingdon, Va.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, in the Owens Funeral Service Chapel with Randy Williams and Rev. Larry Bales officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at Ketron Memorial Gardens in Lebanon. Grandsons and friends will serve as pallbearers.
