Helen married Mr. Palmer, and they became the parents of a son.
Later, after the end of her first marriage, Helen married Arthur D. "Don" Shirey.
Helen was a member of the Latrobe First Church of God and retired after a lengthy career at Bell Telephone. She enjoyed travelling, playing cards, bowling, and doting on her two dogs, Rocky and Cricket.
At the age of 89, Helen Milne Shirey, of Latrobe, passed away Monday, April 16, 2018, at her home.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur D. “Don” Shirey; her son, Dr. Gary A. Palmer; a granddaughter, Caitlin Palmer; a brother, George Milne; and a sister, Agnes Wilson.
Helen was survived by three grandchildren, Anthony Palmer of Montana, Nicole Kuro, and her husband Klayton, of Seattle, WA, and Celeste Palmer of Austin, TX; two great-grandchildren, River Caitlin Kuro and Ellie Marie Kuro; and she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
