URBANA – Loretta Young, 58, of Urbana departed this life Sunday, April 22, 2018, at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center, Urbana.
Loretta was born Oct. 14, 1959, in Champaign, the daughter of Johnnie Young Sr. and Dorothy (Carter) Young. She was affectionately called "Lo" or "Tuddie" by her family and friends.
Loretta graduated from Centennial High School. She worked various jobs as a housekeeper and a certified nursing assistant (CNA). Loretta loved her life and especially loved her family. She had a unique personality. She had a "special saying" that she would fit into any conversation or greeting. She also loved to sing and dance.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories her mother, Dorothy Young of Urbana; sons, Jermale Young of Urbana, Lamont Young of Champaign and Eric Nesbitt Jr. (Ashleana) of Memphis, Tenn.; siblings, Johnnie Young Jr. (Barbara Hubbard) of Urbana, Steven (Juleen) Young of Pontiac, Keith Young (Lillie Caston) of Champaign, Calvin Young of Urbana, Tinisha Young (Willie Caston) of Urbana, Brandon Young, Teanna Young, Johnnie Young III, Mario Johnson, Jerry Johnson, Joseph Johnson and Deborah Lott; seven grandchildren; special friend, "Mountain Dew"; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Loretta was preceded in death by her father, Johnnie Young Sr.; maternal and paternal grandparents; and sister, Carla Young.
Services will be at noon Saturday, May 5, 2018, with visitation one hour prior to the service at Kingdom Connection Outreach Center, 2003 S. Philo Road, Urbana. Pastor Davita Bernard will officiate. Professional services were entrusted to Walker Funeral Service (www.walkerfs.com).
